Charles William Harris, age 66, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

 

He was born February 10, 1952 in Richlands, Va., son of the late Mitchell and Mildred Harris. He was proud to work as a coal miner at Pittston Coal for many years. He loved the game of golf and was a previous member at the Glenrochie Country Club and Greenway Creek golf course. Charles attended Highlands Fellowship and was of the Baptist faith.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Larry “Train” Harris; father-in-law Will Jessee; and niece Christie Harris.

 

He is survived by his wife, Reba Jessee Harris of Abingdon, Va.; one son, Thad Harris and wife Katrina of Richlands, Va., and children Liam Tate Harris and Isla Jacquelyn Harris; one brother, Mitch Harris, Jr. and wife Tina of Kingsport, Tn.; two sisters, Mary Jessee and husband Skip of Lebanon, Va., and Kim Harris Crabtree and husband Bobby of Bean Station, Tn.; a loving stepmother, Frances Harris of Honaker, Va.

 

Visitation will take place on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. An entombment service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Knollkreg Memorial Park at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Mike McFarlen officiating. Mitch Harris, Matthew Harris, Skipper Jessee, Thad Harris, Lynn Campbell, and Tom Ferguson will serve as pallbearers. Earl Counts and Jeremy McVay will serve as honorary pallbearers.
