Bonnie Marie McCready Martin, 96, passed away June 27, 2024, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 02, 2024, at Frost Funeral Home.
Interment will be held privately.

Mrs. Martin was always a fun person to be around. When I was a kid, she'd invite me over to play with Lee Ann where we'd talk about The Little Mermaid or other movies (usually the Little Mermaid because that was Lee Ann's favorite). My childhood friendship with Lee Ann taught me that friendship can bridge any differences and I am grateful to Mrs. Martin for encouraging that.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin were such a fun example of marriage. They always laughed together and enjoyed supporting whatever crazy ideas the other had. Whether it was dressing up to go ballroom dancing or wearing coordinated blazers to sing Mickey Mouse tunes (though I think they were supposed to be community ambassadors)--…

A gracious lovely lady who adored her husband as much as he adored her. It was an honor to know them both.
Bonnie was my dear friend for 48 years. We remained close even after hers and Tom’s move back to Virginia to be near family. She always had a flair for fashion and interior design. When shopping together, I could count on an honest opinion from her.
She was a loving mother to her daughter who was born with Downs Syndrome and a tireless advocate for the mentally challenged. She was instrumental in getting a new school in DeKalb County, GA for children with disabilities similar to her daughter’s.
Following the death of her daughter, Bonnie and Tom traveled extensively visiting most of the United States and 38 foreign countries. They often included her sister, Kathleen Hedgepath, in their travel.
