Clinton E. Blackburn

Clinton E. Blackburn, 85, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

Clinton was born on May 27, 1936, in Damascus, Va., to the late Ray and Florence Blackburn. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Blackburn and one nephew, Kenny Blackburn.

Clinton retired from Columbus-McKinnon and attended Abingdon Bible Church. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch, spending time with his family and his dogs. Clinton also enjoyed collecting Cardinals baseball and John Wayne memorabilia.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lois Blackburn; two children, Kristi Blackburn and Mike Blackburn (fiancé, Dawn Douglas); three grandchildren, Megan Blackburn Hanna, Cody Blackburn, Michaela Blackburn; one brother, Jerry Blackburn (Sharon); several nieces, nephews, and special friends, Junior and Pauline Turnmire.

Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m., on Thursday, August 5, 2021, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., in the chapel with Dr. Paul Bufford officiating. Interment will follow at Rush Creek Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va.
