Dewey Lynn Neal

Dewey Lynn Neal, age 85, of Bristol TN passed away on April 18, 2025 at home surrounded by family. He was born on June 1, 1939, to the late Jake Neal and Pearl Sweet Neal. He worked from age 17 until time of retirement for Kelley-Johnson Wholesale Florist.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a newborn baby girl, Rita Lynn Neal; sisters, Francis Wright and Ann Neal; brothers Luther Neal and Cecil Neal.

He is survived by his caring wife of 62 years, Wilma Wright Neal; daughters Lisa (David) Baumgardner of Abingdon, VA and Tammy (Mark) May of Upton, MA. Dewey enjoyed his seven grandchildren, Courtney (Joe) Coleman of Damascus, VA; Brett (Diana) May, Sutton , MA; Logan May, Griffin May, Rachel May and Ryan May all of Upton, MA; great grandchildren, Gage Coleman and Aleigha Coleman of Damascus, VA; baby girl May, due July 2025.

Throughout his life, he thoroughly enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting, collecting and repairing old clocks, and took pride in his vegetable garden. As his health declined, he loved working on jigsaw puzzles.

The family wants to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Home Health/Hospice. Also, a special thank you to Regina Widener, Audrey Neal, and Courtney Coleman for their kindness and gentle care during his final days.

To Gordon Smith, thank you for the friendship bestowed to Dewey and most of all for winning his heart over to the Lord.

The family will receive friends at Frost Funeral Home, Abingdon, VA, on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 5-7 pm. Funeral will be Tuesday, April 22, 2025, 2pm at Greenwood Freewill Baptist Church, Abingdon, VA, with Brother Gordon Smith officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Joe Coleman, Gage Coleman, Brett May, Logan May, Curtis Wright and

Shawn Lawson. Honorary pallbearers are: Duff Parks, Noah Wright, Marshall Wright, Dwayne

Puckett and Larry Denton.
