Bud Wright of the Dentons Valley community of Bristol, TN departed this life for his heavenly home on February 18, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the son of the late Frank and Mae Wright. He was a master carpenter, mason, plumber and electrician who could complete a home from the ground up. He loved to work and even after retirement he continued building houses on a smaller scale (for birds). He loved the outdoors and fishing was his favorite hobby. He enjoyed making his own fishing lures, working puzzles and helping his family in every way possible.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Denton Wright; one son, Curtis Wright (Frances) and two daughters, Janet Baldwin (Joey) and Priscilla Miller (Darren); grandchildren, Mitchell Wright (Brooke), Shannon Baldwin, Jennifer Stevens (Canaan) and Alex Miller; two great-granddaughters, Rylee Wright and Audrey Stevens; and four bonus great-grandchildren, Cheyan, Emmitt, Myah and River. His brother and favorite fishing partner, Marshall Wright (Phyllis); and four sisters, Wilma Neal (Dewey), Ruby Baumgardner, Hazel Baumgardner and Ethel Riley.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 20, 2023, at the church he faithfully attended, Greendale Chapel in Abingdon, at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Jerry A. Eggers. Visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 2p:00 P.M.at the Montgomery Cemetery in Dentons Valley.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Wright, Canaan Stevens, Lewis Minton, Bill Denton, Shawn Lawson, Heath Denton, Nick Sweet and Wesley Sweet.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Denton, Noah Wright, Eddie Baldwin, Marty Wright, McKinley Miller, Albert Wright, Duffy Parks, Eddie McConnell and the men of Greendale Chapel.
