George Anthony "Tony" Torres

George Anthony “Tony” Torres, 67, of Meadowview, Va., passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Christian Care Center of Bristol, Tenn.

Tony was born in Fort Campbell, Ky., to the late George C. Torres and Iris Murphy Torres. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was employed in the Engineering Lab at Bristol Compressors for 28 years. Tony was an avid NASCAR fan and coin and stamp collector. He also enjoyed playing darts and going to the movies.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Kay Torres; two daughters, Tonya Torres (David Ross) and Laci McConnell (Mike); three grandchildren, Madison, Tanner and Nolan; one aunt, Pam Carter and several cousins.

A military graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Park with honors provided by the United States Navy and Highlands Veterans Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are suggested to the Damascus Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 458, Damascus, Va., 24236, or a local animal shelter in Tony’s name.
