He is survived by his children, daughter Rhonda Wingate and husband David, son Eddie Corns and wife Debbie. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Ashlee Hill and husband Justin and Meghan Corns as well as great-grandchildren, Denny Harold Hill and Kourtney Grace Corns. He is also survived by his long-time, dearest friend and companion, Phyllis Phillips.

Bill was born and raised in the Swords Creek / Honaker communities of Southwest Virginia but made Bristol, Virginia his home for the last 56 years. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Bristol.

He was a graduate of The Anderson School of Scientific Massage in Richmond, Virginia. He served as Executive Health Services Director for the Bristol Family YMCA for over 30 years. During this time, he trained and certified numerous individuals in scientific massage and reflexology for the state of Tennessee.

Over the years he was involved in several civic functions for the community. He enjoyed coordinating social events for the church. He preferred to be outdoors, and he liked to stay physically active. Along with friends, he logged many miles on the Creeper Trail riding his tandem bike, “Big Red”. He liked to say they were the steering, and he was the motor.

Along with God's Grace and the support of his family and friends he was able to achieve many goals while inspiring others. He was a complex man with numerous facets, and he made an impact on those he encountered. He will be remembered in different ways by many different people. He is not someone who will be easily forgotten.
