
James Lee McCroskey, 93, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2025, at his home peacefully.
James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Germany 1955 through 1956.
He was a lifelong member and Deacon of the Valley View Missionary Baptist Church of Abingdon, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lala McCroskey, his son James Lee McCroskey, and two brothers Jack McCroskey and Fred McCroskey.
He is survived by his wife Rose Peters McCroskey, one brother Spurgeon McCroskey and wife Pat, one sister-in-law Patsy McCroskey, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Frost Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow with Brother Daniel Hoss and Pastor Walter Duke officiating. Committal service will follow to Valley View Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Flowers will be accepted as well as donations to Valley View Missionary Baptist Church.
