Joe Howard Widner III, 46, of Glade Spring, passed away on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025.


Jojo was born to Joe and Betty Jo Widner. Jojo loved being outdoors where he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, and working on his truck.


 Jojo was also a skilled electrician and was dedicated to his work for many years.


He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe Widner, Sr. and Shirley Widner and his maternal grandparents, Walter and Betty Ray.


Jojo is survived by his parents, Joe and Betty Jo Widner; his loving wife, Karen Widner; three daughters, Kaitlyn Widener, Alyson Widner, and Abbagail Widner; his stepson, David Prater, and fiancé Mallory Thompson; three grandchildren, Luca, Oliver, and Julianna Begley; one step-grandchild, Grant Prater; his sister, Billie Jo Pope (Henry); his brother, Bobby Joe Widner (Amber); his mother-in-law and father-in-law, David and Linda Yarber; and several nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.


He is also survived by his best friend, Jacob Olinger, who he loved as a brother, and his beloved dogs Bear, Tater, and Maverick.


Jojo will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love for life, his family, and the outdoors will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.


A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Frost Funeral Home, to aide in final expenses.
