Marjorie Othella Icenhour, age 86, formerly of Shady Valley, Tenn., went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 13, 2018, surrounded by her family.
She was born February 7, 1932, in Shady Valley, Tenn., to the late David Jackson Morley and Cassie Delores Pierce Morley. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Icenhour; two sisters; and eight brothers.
Othella was a longtime member of Shady Valley Presbyterian Church, where she served as a church elder and was the pianist and organist for over 50 years. She was well known for having taught piano and guitar for many years. Othella was an excellent seamstress, painted beautiful pictures, loved crocheting, making quilts, and especially enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kathryn Elaine “Kathy” Icenhour and Patricia Jane “Janie” Icenhour Dunn and Janie’s husband, D. Barry Dunn, all of Abingdon, Va.; two brothers, Delmer Morley and wife, Mandlene of Shady Valley, Tenn., and Dale Morley and wife, Phyllis of Kingsport, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Ballad Hospice and Dr. Mary Dawson for their care and concern.
Visitation will be from 12 to 1:45 p.m., on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Shady Valley Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church with interment afterward in Shady Valley Memorial Gardens.
