Melvin Fields

Melvin Fields, 72, of Abingdon, VA, went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2019 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ruby Fields; brothers, Vernie and Roger Fields; and sister, Freda Taylor.

Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Graham and husband Robert; grandchildren, LeighAnn Lloyd and husband Matthew, Sarah Graham and fiancé Donovan Moore, and Douglas Graham; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Graham Lloyd, and Lilliana Moore; sisters, Shirley Harless, Betty Duncan, Imogene Taylor, and Joyce Correll; brother, Jackie Fields; and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to his sister, Shirley, and caregiver, Donna for all they did for him.

A memorial service will be held on Friday July 12, 2019 at the Meadowview Community Center from 5:00 until 6:00 pm with Pastor Matthew Lloyd officiating. This is to be followed by visitation and fellowship from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
