Nancy C. Johnson

Meadowview, VA

Nancy C. Johnson, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2024. 

Nancy was born in South Charleston, WV to the late Joseph and Kathryn Terry.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold K. Johnson and her sister, Betty Jo Terry.

Nancy is survived by her three children:  Marsha and Charles Engle of Virginia Beach, Brian and Kelley Johnson of Meadowview, and Felicia and Philip Line of Frederick, MD.  She leaves behind six grandchildren: Chas (and Hailey) Engle, Trey Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Derek (and Jessica) Line, Taylor (and Megan) Line, and Rachel Line.  Additionally, she is survived by her three great-grandchildren: Emma Engle, Everson Line and Kennedy Line.

Nancy was dedicated to her church, Fellowship Baptist Church, in Meadowview.  For many summers, she directed the church’s Summer Vacation Bible School.  She also loved to work in the nursery.  Nancy would be the first to take care of families in times of need.

Nancy's greatest joy was her grandchildren.  They gave her life, meaning and purpose.  She also loved to dance, taking ballet and tap as a child, and later in life, square-dancing  and shag dancing with her husband. She worked several years at General Engineering, but spent most of her life being a dedicated at-home mother and grandmother.

We’d like to give a very special heartfelt thanks to her caregivers Jane, Lynda and Nicki for their ongoing, loyal, loving, kind and exceptional care.  We couldn’t have asked for anything more than what they gave of themselves, and she loved them so dearly.  

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 13, 2024, at Frost Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 1:00 P.M. with Preacher Chad Johnson officiating. A committal service will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, VA.  

Pallbearers will be Trey Johnson, Derek Line, Taylor Line, David Johnson, Tim Casto, and Tyler Montague.  The service will be officiated by Pastor Chad Johnson.
