
Nancy Caldwell Campbell passed on March 7, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 9, 1936 in Sullivan County Tennessee to the late Rex V. Caldwell and Mary Massengill Caldwell. Nancy graduated from Elizabethton High School in 1954. She retired from Sprint in 1996 after which she worked for J.C. Penny Company and Suburban Shoe Center. She was a member of the East Bristol Church of Christ.
Including her parents, preceding her in death is her husband, D.L. (Banty) Campbell, brother Rex V. Caldwell Jr. and sister in-law Molly Caldwell.
Nancy is survived by her children, Mark Campbell (Libby), Lisa Bowman (Dan), and Neena Cross (Dennis). Her grandchildren, Katie Jackson (Chris), Emily Bassett (Sklyer), Maggie Salvatore (Andy), Laura Oxley (Eric), Rebecca Fuquay (Cody), and Zach Cross (Audrey). Her great grandchildren, Calvin and Colin Jackson, Waylon Bassett, Gavriella Salvatore, Rhett and Penelope Oxley, and Wesley Fuquay as well as several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to her caregiver Penny Catteau, Dr. Grat Correll, Dr. Ryan Shao and their staffs for many years of care and kindness. Also, a special thank you to Gentive Hospice for their care during the past few months.
At Nancy's request there will be a graveside service at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Forest Hills Cemetery, 19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon VA with Minister Floyd Bailey officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 P.M.
In lieu of flowers a donation in Nancy's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to East Bristol Church of Christ at 1625 Bonham Road, Bristol Va. 24202.
