Robert Eugene Peters

Robert Eugene (Bob) Peters, age 85, passed away Monday December 2, 2024, at his home.

He was born June 18, 1939, in Washington County, Virginia, a son of the late Clarence Peters and Ira Marsh Peters.  He lived most of his life in Washington County and had attended Greendale Chapel.

 He was a Claims Agent for Norfolk Southern Railway for many years.  He was a graduate of Greendale High School and had a bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife Linda L. Peters of the home; four children, Vickye Hall and husband Don of Piney Flats, Tn, Susan Hampton and husband Mike of Bristol, Tn, Kimberly D. Miller and husband John of

Statesville, NC, and Marty E. Grizzle of Glade Spring, VA; five Grandchildren; Adam Hall, Chad Hall, Joseph Kennedy and wife Brittany, Katie Kennedy, and John Miller and wife Jessica; four Great Grandchildren; Hunter Kennedy, Carson Miller, Cayden Duke, and Beckett Hall; and two special friends who were like brothers, Kenneth Long and Phil Fleming.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday December 4, 2024, at Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. until time of the funeral service.  Burial will follow at Greendale Chapel Cemetery on Rich Valley Road.  Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
