Abingdon, Virginia
Wanda Jenkins, 69, passed away Saturday night, May 25, 2024.
She was born in Lebanon, Virginia to the late Marvin and Loretta Reynolds on September 27, 1954.
Wanda didn't suffer long. A big thank you to all who prayed for her during the struggle and for a merciful exit when we knew there was nothing to be done for her. She's with her parents and pain-free now and for that we take solace. She lived with deteriorating rheumatoid arthritis since her twenties and between 2003-2024, she survived cancer four times, a stroke, and a heart attack. She lived in pain the last two decades and it slowed her down some days, but it didn't slow her kind, generous, loving, and calming nature. Our love for her will continue to grow each day like it always has and the memories we have will always make us smile.
In addition to her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Mason Fields and Virgie Mae Fields.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Alexander Jenkins; sisters, Peggy Fannon (John), Judy Wise (Bobby), Deborah Wise (Bradley), Ithena Powers (Mike); brothers, Neal Reynolds (Glenna), Ira Reynolds (Patricia); special friends, Loudelle Bailey and Jean Combs; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Eddie Gobble officiating at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:45 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation in Wanda’s honor.
Frost Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Ms. Jenkins.
