Wayne Edward Henderson

Abingdon, Virginia


Wayne Edward Henderson, 86, of Abingdon, Virginia, entered his heavenly home on May 14, 2024.


He was born on January 9, 1938, to the late Ervin and Leona Henderson in Abingdon, Virginia.


Wayne was a graduate of Greendale High School in Abingdon, VA. Most people who knew Wayne remember his love of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and animals, especially his horses and dogs. One of his favorite things to do was go get a sausage biscuit with his dog, Rex.


Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Leona Henderson; wife, Sarah; sister, Betty Jones; and great-grandson, Brandon Henderson.


Those left to cherish his memory include, his daughter, Paige Bordwine and husband, Mark of Christiansburg, Virginia; sons, Shawn Henderson of Abingdon, Virginia; and Darian Henderson of Abingdon, Virginia; grandchildren, Casey Henderson, Miles Bordwine, and Hope Bordwine; great-grandchildren, Brayden Henderson and Everleigh Henderson; sister, Nancy Carter of Chesapeake, Virginia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Brian Cockram officiating, procession will follow the service to Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.


Acting as pallbearers will be friends and family.

 

For those who would like to make a memorial donation, please donate to a local animal shelter or an equine rescue. That would make Wayne smile.
