WILLIAM R. (BILL) CASEY

William R. (Bill) Casey, age 78, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 3, 1946, in Washington County, Virginia, a son of the late James Casey and Margaret Reynolds Casey.  He lived his entire life in Washington County and was in the construction business for nearly 50 years.  He was owner and operator of W R Casey Backhoe and Loader Service.  Bill was a hard worker who loved his family and friends and always enjoyed helping others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sammy Casey and Charlie Casey; seven sisters, Nellie Cassidy, Irene Dye, Ella Mae Cox, Betty Lovell, Lois Gill, Ruthy Price, and Edith Ferguson; and his beloved dog, Jippy.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Linda F. Casey; two daughters, Melissa Sutherland and husband, Fred, and Vicki Wyatt and husband, Rhudy; one brother, Rufus Casey; three sisters, Ruby Honeycutt, Linda Casey, and Brenda Bailey; four grandchildren, Adam Hickman and wife Brittany, Brandon Hickman and wife Lexi, Kendra Hickman and fiancé Caleb, and Nicholas Hickman and partner Kiera; five great grandchildren, Taylor, Kinslee, Salem, Raelynn, and Ember; and several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 1 P.M. at the Frost Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Greendale Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating.
