WILMA JEAN "JEANIE"ROE CAMPBELL

ABINGDON, VIRGINIA

Wilma Jean "Jeanie" Roe Campbell, age 78, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 31, 1946, in Damascus, Virginia, a daughter of the late Frank and Beatrice Boone Roe.

She lived her entire life in Washington County, Virginia, and was a 1965 graduate of Holston High School (the first graduating class of Holston High School). She worked as a manager of Wendy's in Abingdon for several years and had opened the Wendy's stores in Abingdon and Marion. She returned to school and became a nurse and worked for Johnson City Medical Center for several years, then later retired from Johnson City Medical Center.

She faithfully attended her Church, Greendale Chapel, where she served in several capacities, including being a member of the Church Choir, a member of the Ladies Bible Study Group, Bible School Worker, and Day Camp Worker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, an infant child, and granddaughter Amanda Fuller.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years Donald L. Campbell, Sr.; four step-children Don Campbell, Jr; Angela Cornett, husband Ed; Stephanie Campbell and Mark; Brian Campbell, wife Kim; three grandchildren Elizabeth Deakins, husband Sean; Chris Reece, wife Tiffany; and Amber Campbell; seven great-grandchildren Tyler Deakins, wife Hailey; Caitlyn Sheckells, husband Lukis; Maggie Deakins; Carley Deakins; Michael Reece; Riley Reece; and Harper Reece; great-grandchildren Rosalee Deakins, and another baby on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025, a 7:00 P.M. at Greendale Chapel with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 5 P.M. until time of the funeral service. The graveside service will be Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. at Greendale Chapel Cemetery in Abingdon, Virginia.

Family and friends and Men of Greendale Chapel will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
